What you need to know on the day
There are some excellent prizes for the winners and runner’s up of each format as well as larger prizes for the overall winners and runners up.
In the spirit of giving as many people as possible a prize, as a pair you can only win one set of prizes and so you will receive the highest valued prizes.
I have also arranged some extra competitions on the day, nearest the pin, long drive etc as well as the chance to win a brand new Srixon Golf bag for just £1
Ross and the Team will be on hand all day to ensure you don’t get hungry or thirsty as the kitchen and bar will be open throughout the day.
I have ensured the tee times spacing will allow you plenty of time to get a decent meal and take some drinks on board.
Rich & I will have some very special offers for you in the Pro Shop so feel free to stop by and buy us both a drink
The front nine of the course will be open all day, so members and visitors are still welcome to come and play.
It is advisable to book a tee time ahead of time to ensure you get to play
The back 9 will re-open for general play at 15:08
What you need to know about the golf competition
How does Foresomes Work?
Playing as a pair, players will take alternate shots using the same golf ball.
One player will tee off on the even numbered holes and the other will tee off on the odd numbered holes
Foresomes is the most difficult of the formats played by pairs. It requires a bit more use of your brain as you also have to think about how to help your partner play well, on top of playing well yourself.
I recommend you always carry your putter on to the green irrespective of the length of your partner’s putt, as this will save them any further embarrassment, as you go off to get your putter, when they miss it…which they will!
The handicapping for these 9 Foresomes holes is 30% of the combined team handicap, adjusted for 9 holes
How does Greensomes Work?
Playing as a pair, players will both tee off using a ball each. they then choose the ball that is lying in the best position for the next shot.* once selected this ball is then played until the hole is completed with players, again as in foresomes, taking alternate shots using the same golf ball.
*Hint: This is not always a case of choosing the longest drive
How does 4 Ball Better Ball Work?
Playing as a pair, players will both play each hole with their own ball and then choose the lowest NET score as their Team score.
If you’re not sure, the NET score is the actual score minus the number of shots your handicap permits you on the particular hole.
Have a great day and if you have any questions please feel free to contact the club on 01666 510 277 and ask for Steve
