Ogbourne Downs Hole 3 Layout

WHITE 311 YARDS | YELLOW 296 YARDS | RED 289 YARDS

Drivable hole for the long hitters but beware of the steep bank on the left.

The right hand side of this fairway is preferable, allowing for the steep slope to bring the ball back to the centre of the fairway.

But when the fairway is firm get used to missing the fairway left even if the balls lands on the far right of the fairway…nothing to do but watch gravity do its thing

Bunkers guard this green which are set into the steep bank on the right.

Good birdie opportunity if your approach is accurate

Hole 7 Par 4

Ogbourne Downs Hole 7 Layout

Hole 9 Par 5

Ogbourne Downs Hole 9 Layout

WHITE 570 YARDS | YELLOW 558 YARDS | RED 542 YARDS

A nice Par 5. Get your drive to the ridge and the steep slope down towards the hole could leave you with a medium to short iron into the green.

Trees and fairway bunkers both left and right of this fairway will collect any stray second shots.

The green is guarded by two bunkers and is relatively flat.

Hole 10 Par 5

Ogbourne Downs Hole 10 Layout

WHITE 537 YARDS | YELLOW 494 YARDS | RED 414 YARDS

Avoid missing the green right or you will face a tricky up and down to save par.

Hole 11 Par 4

Ogbourne Downs Hole 11 Layout

WHITE 346 YARDS | YELLOW 336 YARDS | RED 316 YARDS

Hitting the fairway is a must if you want the best possible chance of attacking the green with your second shot.

Your approach shot is deceiving and usually requires an extra club uphill to the green.

Bunkers guard the relatively flat green, front left and right to catch any wayward shots.

Hole 12 Par 4

Ogbourne Downs Hole 12 Layout

WHITE 347 YARDS | YELLOW 334 YARDS | RED 326 YARDS

Slightly right of centre is the route to take up this hole.

This should leave a short to mid iron to the green.

Don’t be long with your approach shot to this green as it falls away leaving a tough up and down should you go through the green.

Hole 13 Par 4

Ogbourne Downs Hole 13 Layout

WHITE 431 YARDS | YELLOW 423 YARDS | RED 359 YARDS

The start of Amen Corner with a long and tough Par 4.

Beware of the hidden dangers that lie over the brow.

Hole 14 Par 5

Ogbourne Downs Hole 14 Layout

WHITE 558 YARDS | YELLOW 545 YARDS | RED 465 YARDS

Part 2 of Amen Corner begins with a tough tee shot on this Par 5 Hole.

A copse awaits any stray tee-shots that go left whilst the thick rough complete with its scattering of bushes sits waiting on the right.

Once off the tee this hole opens up to allow the golfer little worry until the green.

The 3rd shot will need good club selection if you want to get close to the pin

Hole 15 Par 3

Ogbourne Downs Hole 15 Layout

WHITE 202 YARDS | YELLOW 186 YARDS | RED 142 YARDS

You finish Amen Corner with a tough Par 3 that requires plenty of club.

Anything short will leave an almost vertical second uphill shot into this sloping green.

Aim to the right to avoid the out of bounds to the left side of this hole.

The good news is there are not any bunkers, but this hole is tough enough without them.

Hole 16 Par 4

Ogbourne Downs Hole 16 Layout

WHITE 369 YARDS | YELLOW 362 YARDS | RED 329 YARDS

Cutting the corner is possible for the longer hitters but play safe and aim down the middle, which will leave you a mid to short iron, uphill to the green.

Play to get the ball on the green as attacking the flag is very risky, with bunkers and slopes protecting the green.

Hole 17 Par 3

Ogbourne Downs Hole 17 Layout

WHITE 144 YARDS | YELLOW 124 YARDS | RED 114 YARDS

The last of the Par 3”s with a short and inviting hole.
